Windscreen Tint in Penang

The windscreen is the biggest piece of glass in the car and the biggest single source of cabin heat. It is also the one piece of glass the law is strictest about — which is exactly why film choice matters more here than anywhere else on the vehicle.

Legal at the front, still effective

The front windscreen must let through at least 70% of visible light. That rules out anything that looks meaningfully dark — but it does not rule out serious heat rejection.

A high-grade nano-ceramic film at 70% VLT looks close to clear and still blocks a substantial share of infrared. This is the single most under-used upgrade on Malaysian cars: drivers tint the sides dark, leave the windscreen bare, and wonder why the cabin is still hot.

Fitted in one piece

A windscreen is a compound curve. Film must be heat-shrunk on the outside of the glass first so it lies flat when it goes on the inside, then applied as a single sheet.

Any shop that splits a windscreen into two pieces to avoid shrinking it is cutting a corner you will look at every day. We fit it in one piece or we don't quote it.

Sun strip or full sheet

A sun strip along the top of the windscreen is legal in effect because it sits outside the primary vision area, and it kills the overhead glare that a full 70% film can't. Many customers combine both.

If you drive the coastal road or the Bridge at the wrong hour, the strip is worth more to you than another 5% of VLT.

Where we work

Frequently asked questions

Can I tint my front windscreen in Malaysia?

Yes, provided the glass still transmits at least 70% of visible light after the film is applied. Darker windscreen film is not permitted on private vehicles.

Is windscreen tint worth it if it's almost clear?

Yes. Heat rejection depends on infrared blocking, not visible darkness. A high-IRR ceramic film at 70% VLT noticeably reduces the heat coming through the largest window in the car.

How much does windscreen tint cost?

Ceramic windscreen film for a standard car typically runs RM 400–1,200 depending on the film series and the size of the glass.

Will the film affect my dashcam or ADAS camera?

The area behind a windscreen-mounted camera is handled during fitting. Tell us what's mounted before the job so it's accounted for.

Can you add a sun strip?

Yes, and it pairs well with a legal 70% full-windscreen film for drivers who deal with low sun on the coastal roads or the bridges.
